AT&T is going to launch the 3G MicroCell, a mini cellular tower for home or small business environment. The 3G MicroCell connects to AT&T’s network via DSL or cable broadband internet service. It enhances 3G coverage indoors and supports up to 4 simultaneous voice or data users.

Verizon Wireless Network Extender

AT&T has the MicroCell, another carrier, Verizon Wireless also launches its Network Extender femtocell. Like the MicroCell, the Network Extender connects to Verizon Wireless’ network via broadband connection.

The Verizon Wireless Network Extender needs a minimum broadband speed of 300Kbps. It works with CDMA 2000 1x 1.9 GHz and 800 MHz networks. It costs $249.99.
